REVIEW
THE TERRORIST OF PROVIDENCE STREET

Meta-fictional Genius., 13 Jan. 2017

This review is from: The Terrorist of Providence Street (Paperback)

Who would know that such a short work as this novella would stretch, twist and break the confines of linear narrative? Who would know that this collection of short stories isn’t? For this work is not ordinary. This work is different. This work is exceptional in its imagination, structure and form and I cannot praise it highly enough. Rather like you may gaze upon a building site day after day as bricks are laid here, beams are placed across voids and workman come and go, you are totally unaware as to what is going until the end, the very end, and it is topped off. This book commingles stories, narrative levels and points of view and it is only as Mr Moran places his final full stop do you get it and his house reveals itself. That, my friend, is genius and I have no other diction that best describes it.

But Let me not dress up my review in too many artful reveries, although I would sorely wish too, as Mr Moran’s eloquence should be eulogised in such a way, let me simply say: if you like complex writing in a style that seems homely and redolent of the brilliance of ordinary life then you will love this.

O and it has a talking monkey called Karl Marx. Dearie me it’s funny but then all the best writing is isn’t it?

Who would know of these things?

Well you can. Get in the know and buy this book today. Period.

The Moran Press Process - How Art Becomes a Book Cover

THE MORAN PRESS PROCESS
HOW ART BECOMES
A BOOK COVER

Good morning from Moran Press.

This post will outline the process of turning cover art into the final version you see at Amazon.

The first part of the process is the author collaborating with the artist to produce cover art that will form the foundation of the product. Watch the video of Gabriel discussing the process and his thoughts on art covers. Catch a glimpse of all his book covers. Great stuff in the video.

The Art of Raymond R Kilburn

Once the cover art gets created, it's on to the next step of the process. The transformation from art into book cover.

One of my main goals when beginning this process - creating an arresting book product while also being careful to preserve the original art. I want to showcase the work of the artist as well as producing a cover that gets readers to pick up the book.

Here are two drafts of the cover in progress. Check it out. What are your thoughts? Which cover do you prefer?

The team at Moran Press will work with multiple drafts - trialing fonts/colors/text until arriving at the final product. More drafts of this cover will be posted - and as always - feedback is encouraged and welcomed from readers of Moran Press.

If you'd like to pre-order this book, please comment on this post or talk with Gabriel Ricard. It's going to be a beautiful book.

COVER ART REVEAL
LOVE AND QUARTERS
BY GABRIEL RICARD

I'm pleased to present a first look at the cover art for Love and Quarters by Gabriel Ricard, a soon to be released poetry collection from Moran Press. Each title at Moran Press first is paired with an art cover that best expresses the theme of the book.

The cover art by Raymond R Kilburn Jr is truly fantastic. How do I get this on my wall? (only half kidding). Check out Raymond's website HERE.

With the help of the team at Moran Press, I've begun the process of transforming this art into a cover. I'll reveal sneak peeks on the website as this process unfolds. Stay tuned for more updates of this title. There will be poetry from this book landing later today.

If you'd like to reserve a signed copy, comment on this post, Gabriel's Facebook page, or send a raven. The cost will be $15 plus shipping. No money needed up front, I just need a headcount for the first box.

UPCOMING RELEASES FROM MORAN PRESS
THE TITLES

Good morning from Moran Press. A few days ago I posted about the upcoming release schedule at Moran Press. Today, I will reveal the titles of those books. Here we go. In order of tentative release.
Love and Quarters by Gabriel Ricard - a collection of poetry.

Cloudy Days, Still Nights by Austin Davis - a collection of poetry.

Blood Chill by L. M. Bryski - a thriller.

The Three Suicides of Ray Holden by Stephen Moran - a collection of short stories.

There's another collection to be released, but at this point it doesn't have a title so all I can say is it's an explosive book of stories that will shock some readers.

I'll post more about each title in the coming days beginning with a cover artwork reveal for Love and Quarters by Gabriel Ricard. The cover art is simply amazing and I can't wait to see it turned into a final book cover. I'm confident you'll love it as well.

There's more to come today with yet another paperback giveaway this evening. Be sure to subscribe to the website to qualify.
