REVIEWS OF BOOK OF BIRDS
BY
L. M. BRYSKI

If you've been on the fence about downloading the e-book or buying a paperback edition of Book of Birds, the debut novel by L. M. Bryski from Moran Press, check out what readers are saying. The reviews have been fantastic across the board. But, don't take my word for it, here are the reviews from readers at Amazon.
From reviewer LARA - There's something very special about Book of Birds

When I read the first few chapters it reminded me of something between Anne of Green Gables and Oliver Twist. Yet, LM manages to form a darker plot but keep her quirky, imaginative tone throughout. The way LM describes scenes will make you laugh, and even in the darkest moments of the book, there is a gleam of light in a passing comment or a thought.

Sometimes I’d read a paragraph and stop, just to savor what had been written. I wanted to live in this book for a while. Unlike some stories that I needed to know what happened on the next page immediately -- I did not want to rush this story. I really enjoyed the way this story is told: the nostalgia for the 1940’s and childlike wonder is captivating. I can’t wait for another book from this talented author.
From reviewer Martin Skate - Experience a humbling tale, it’s a genuine heart-strings-tugger

From the very first page you know that you’re going to be in for an emotional ride.

A well thought-out enjoyable read that took me back in time and reminded me of some of the literary greats I read at school; Of Mice and Men, To Kill a Mockingbird, these classics are both present in Book of Birds in both tone and style, and there is a definite echo of these tales regarding the frailty of mortality.

Book of Birds is expertly written, well paced, insightful, and contains a powerful insight into a strange world that is the past. A truly engaging book that will definitely stay in the mind long after reading it. Highly recommend.

From reviewer G. H. Neale - Without exception, one of the better books I've read this year

From the offing, the back-story of orphanage is sufficiently strong to pull you through the rest of the novel’s pages. You want to know more. You need to know more. There are numerous high-spots throughout; one chapter in particular moved me to tears. Yes, L.M. Bryski does possess that much adroit skill.

A further example of a true master at work is the way a certain event occurs near the start of the novel and, no, I won’t say what, but the nature, the description and the power of her language in extolling this reverberates with deep resonance throughout the rest of the pages. Wherewith, that is art and the artist’s hand of manipulation at work. I was truly staggered to discover this is her first novel. To be frank, many authors don’t achieve this standard even after three of four novels.

Buy this book but stock up on some tissues, for you will most certainly need them.
I hope you take a moment to visit the Amazon page to check out the reviews.
