COVER REVEAL MEMOIRS IN FRAGMENTS POETRY BY CHARLES BIVONA
Moran Press is proud to present the cover reveal for the upcoming release, Memoirs in Fragments, by Charles Bivona. This collection will be released in days and I can't wait to introduce readers to the man called the #NJPoet.
Here is a poem from Memoirs in Fragments.
Self Portrait of Someone Else Entirely
“The more perfect the artist[s], the more completely separate in [them] will be the [human] who suffers and the mind which creates.”
-T.S. Eliot, revised for 2016
Not I, said the mildly anarchistic, Marxist poet. I’m not frightened, but the other man: terrified his landlord will bust down the door, any minute now, or while they’re sleeping, drag her out by her hair while kicking him in the ribs.
Until he’s spitting blood. Until they’re both clutching each other, and weeping: I’m sorry. I love you. I’m so sorry. I love you.
Until finally the landlord leaves them for dead. Until finally the landlord leaves them to quietly bleed out. Until finally the landlord leaves them like new ornaments on the precisely manicured lawn.
Until finally the new tenants move their leather couch into our remodeled, freshly painted apartment, turn on the reality television, and go back to sleep.
