Orwell, blessed as he was with foresight, or was it hindsight, was not able to foresee the rise of social media nor the use of cellphone cameras. Many years ago, Anarchist theorists called dynamite the great equalizer, dynamite has been supplanted by Twitter and Sina Weibo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sina_Weibo. In 30 years the world will see instantaneous, peer to peer, contextually accurate (able to tell if one agrees or not) communication. My prediction is that 21st century will see the resolution of the age old question of oligarchy versus direct democracy. Social media will do for us what the printing press did for the 15th century: it brought down the Catholic Church- the worlds' oligarch of the time. Just saying. Ralph Scenic
